JustWatch, the streaming guide that helps users find where to watch movies and shows across services like Netflix and Disney Plus, has moved into streaming itself with the launch of JustWatch TV.

The service has 50 million users according to TechCrunch, making the pivot a notable expansion for a company that built its audience as a discovery tool rather than a content provider.

According to The Verge, JustWatch announced plans for the service last month before launching it. JustWatch TV offers three ways to access content: a free, ad-supported subscription, a paid ad-free subscription priced at $3.99 per month, and movie rentals. The Verge also reports that the service draws on content from 30 global partners.

The move places JustWatch in direct competition with the very platforms it has historically helped users navigate, though the company appears to be positioning its streaming offering as complementary to its existing guide functionality rather than a replacement.
